Rebecca Caudill Young Readers' Book Award
Illinois Readers' Choice Award for 4th-8th Grade

The Rebecca Caudill Young Readers' Book Award is an annual award given to the author of the book voted most outstanding by 4th-8th grade students in participating Illinois schools and libraries.

To participate, just read at least 3 of the 20 books from the current list of nominees. Then you can cast your ballot for your favorite book in February. Our votes will be sent to the committee who will tabulate votes received from all over the state, and announce this year's winning book.

All participants who meet the requirements will receive a certificate, and a small prize (such as a food coupon) Special recognition and prizes will be given to students who read at least 10 of the books and for those who read all 20.

Visit the Rebecca Caudill Website, to see a list of this year's nominees.

New for 2010-2011 is the Bluestem Readers' Choice Award program for students in 3rd-5th grades.
4th & 5th graders may choose to participate in either the Bluestem or the Rebecca Caudill program,
or they may do both.
The reading level and the content or interest level of the Bluestem books may be more appropriate for many 4th grade students than the Rebecca Caudill Books.
