Search Carthage Public Library District's
collection On-Line.

Carthage Public Library District, and many other libraries in the Alliance Library System, are members of the Resource Sharing Alliance. Through this project, the catalog of our library's collection is made available to other libraries. We use this database for Interlibrary Loan services-- we can see which libraries have the book our patron would like to borrow.

Through this system, our catalog (and that of hundreds of other libraries) is also accessible through the Internet. You may search by author, title, subject, key word, etc. to see if we own a specific book, or books on a certain topic. You can see if the book is already checked out, or if it should be on the shelf.

To search our catalog:

1. Click on this address link http://rsacat.alsrsa.org

2. Typing in the short address above will take you to the RSA Database for all participating libraries, clicking on the link above should take you directly to the Carthage Library Database.

3. A Quick Search Box will open. Type in the key words. You can also use the dropdown menu to the right to specify an author or title search. For more specific searches, you may click on the "Advanced Search" option.

4. You may choose to search a specific library, or select "ALL" to search all of the RSA libraries.

You do not need to log in to search the catalog.

However, if you do log-in, you can:
1. Check your account to see when your items are due.
2. Renew certain items in accordance with our policies. If you are unable to renew your items on-line, call the library.
(Many items are limited to 1 or 2 renewals and we don't renew DVD's & videos. It shouldn't renew an item if someone else is waiting for it. If items are overdue or you have large fines, it probably will not renew on-line.)
3. Place a hold (add your name to a waiting list) on any of our items that are checked out.
4. Place a hold on items owned by other libraries, which is the same as making an InterLibrary Loan request.
To Log-in:
Type in the 10 digit barcode from your Library Card: D3370______
DO NOT leave a space.
Type in your PIN number/Password.
If you haven't asked for a PIN number, try CHANGEME (all caps, no space).
If you are able to log in with this PIN, then please change it to something you will remember (10 characters max).
If you are unable to log in, stop by the library and we can set a PIN for you.
