• "History of McDonough County, Illinois: Its Cities, Towns, & Villages" by S.J. Clarke Contains early reminscences, personal incidents, and anecdotes as well as a history of the county. It also contains a business directory of the county. Published in 1878.
• "Biographical Review of Hancock County, Illinois" - Containing Biographical & genealogical sketches of many of the prominent citizens of the past. Published in 1907.
