Friends of the
Carthage Public Library
District

Purpose:

1.  To support and assist the Library Board in its policies and 
    programs.
2.  To promote the development of excellent library service in our
    community.
3.  To foster closer relations between our library and the citizens
    of our community.
4.  To promote knowledge of the library's funcionts, resources, 
    services, and needs.
5.  To provide the means for members to exchange ideas, information,
    and experiences.

Contact the Carthage Public Library, 357-3232.
Membership dues of $5.00 for membership through December.

We are currently seeking individuals to serve on the following committees:

Book Sale
Program
Hospitality
Festival of Wreaths

Activities:

Book and Bake Sale: Usually held during the Strawberry Festival.

Wreath Raffle or Festival of Wreaths: Held prior to and during the Carthage Christmas Open House.

Gifts to the Library:

The proceeds from the Friends Book and Bake sale were given to the Carthage Public Library. They purchased a laminating machine, and almost $175 of new adult fiction books (12 titles).

The Friends also purchase the T-Shirts for the Library's SOAR volunteers each year.
