Abraham Lincoln Illinois High School Book Award Program

2004-2005 was the first year for this program, sponsored by the Illinois School Library Media Association.

To participate, high school students must read (or listen to) at least 4 of the 22 books on the list. Then they can vote for their favorite book in February. The votes from all over the state are tabulated to choose the winning book.

The Carthage Library will give each student who meets the requirements a smal prize (such as a food coupon). Special recognition and prizes will be given to students who read at least 10 of the titles and for those who read 20-22 of the books.

For more information, and for a list of this year's nominees, visit the ISLMA website.

High School students may also participate in the
Read for a Lifetime Program.

Reading Programs for other ages include:
Rebecca Caudill -- 4th-8th Grades
Bluestem Award -- 3rd-5th Grades
Monarch -- Kdg.-3rd Grades
