On-line Databases available through Carthage Public Library
Use the search box on this page, or click on the link above for more advanced searching. To access your personal account, use your library barcode number and a password or PIN to login (call the Library if you don't know your PIN). Download free audiobooks or e-books to your computer. Listen to audiobooks on your computer or transfer them to an i-pod, MP3 player, or burn to CDs. E-books can be read on the computer, or on e-readers such as a Sony Reader,Barnes and Noble Nook, or the i-pad. They are now also compatible the Amazon Kindle. Many smart phones are also compatible with the audiobooks and ebooks.
You need your Carthage Library card barcode number and a PIN to log-in. If you don't have a PIN, call the library. The software you need to download the titles is free and available on the site.
You are limited to 2 downloads at a time. You may choose to have listening/viewing rights for 7 or 14 or 21 days. Once that time has elapsed, it is automatically "checked back in." If it has not automatically been removed from your device, you are expected to delete it. Then you may download another title.
In addition to the titles purchased by our consortia, which must be "checked out" there are also over 15,000 Project Gutenberg titles which are public domain books.
These may be downloaded by anyone. You do not need to log in to access them. They are always available, there is no time limit, and they do not count against your checkout limits.

On the first screen, log in using your Carthage Public Library card barcode number, beginning with a capital D.
On the next screen, the user ID is wabash and the password is 62321.
