Our Purpose:
Recent trends have caused difficulties in public school financing. School boards have found it increasingly difficult to provide the basic programs, yet still stay within their budgets. To prepare students for the twenty-first century, additional material and equipment is required but may be beyond the district's budget. The training a child receives should not be limited by lack of funds. This is where the Carthage School District Foundation plays an important role.
The foundation is a self-governing, independent organization that provides the funding for special projects or equipment that may be outside the normal school budget. The Foundation has its own volunteer Board of Trustees whose purpose is to actively solicit and wisely invest contributions, then distribute the income generated. Now when teachers or other interested parties have ideas that will enhance and make learning more interesting, they can come to the Foundation for the funding that makes their ideas a reality.
The Carthage School District Foundation is a non-profit corporation established to raise additional funds for local public education. By making a contribution to the Foundation, individuals, businesses, and organizations can directly support worthwhile projects in our schools.
The Foundation accepts contributions of cash, securities, and real property. The Foundation also accepts contributions through wills and life insurance policies. All contributions are tax deductible.
