Services Provided:
A 105 bed general medical, surgical, and psychiatric hospital providing medical care and allied services to inpatients and outpatients. Affiliated with the University of Iowa College of Medicine, Nursing, Phramacy, Dentistry, and Department of Psychology. Special medical programs include kidney transplant, ambulatory surgery, hospital based home care, surgical-medical-coronary intensive care units, CT scanning, geriatric evaluation unit, cardiac catheterization, contract nursing home, and the only histocompatibility typing lab in the state of Iowa. Specialized exams and counseling conducted for exposure to Agent Orange, Ionizing Radiation, former prisoners of war, and post traumatic stress disorder. Also have Speakers bureau, opportunities for volunteers, patient and family support groups.
Area Served:
32 counties in eastern Iowa and 18 counties in western Illinois.
Eligibility:
Individuals who have served in the Armed Forces and received other than a dishonorable discharge are eligible for care.
