Services Provided:

The mission of the Special Olympics is to provide year-rounds sports training and athletic competition in a variety of well-coached Olympics-type sports for all developmentally disabled children and adults giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, express courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other special Olympians, and the community. Special Olympics is a volunteer program and there is no need for prior experience or special qualifications to work as a volunteer.

Area Served:

Hancock, Henderson, McDonough, Warren, Knox, Fulton, Mercer, and Rock Island Counties

Eligibility:

Developmentally disabled, ages 8 and above.
