Hours of Operation: 24 hours per day, 7 days a week

Eligibility:

The majority of our admissions are of geriatric age. Admissions are 
done on an individual basis with age not alwayks being the determining
factor. There is no requirement that clients must be within an income 
range.

Fees:

Semi-private rooms:   $71.00 per day
Deluxe Private:        85.00 per day

SERVICES

Aging

Montebello Health Care Center provides a service to our aging community. We offer therapies and nursing care to enable the return of our client to their home setting whenever possible. In the event that our client is no longer able to remain at home, we offer a long-term placement.

Respite and adult day care are also offered by Montebello to area care givers.

Alzheimer's Disease

Every person with Alzheimer's Disease or a related disorder is different. No one has the ability to predict which symptoms will occur or how rapidly the disease will progress with any individual. We are happy to admit those clients who we feeel can be safely cared fo by our staff and who pose no threat to themselves, staff or residents.

We provide a system utilizing the Wander Guard (bracelet and door alarm) throughout the facility for those who may attempt to leave in their confusion.

Assistive Devices

Wheel chairs, canes, walkers dining utensils, and devices to aid in A.D.L.S. are available upon admission at Montebello Health Care.

Cancer, Diabetes, and Heart/Blood Vessel Diseases

Cancer, diabetes, and heart and blood vessel diseases are sometimes exhibited, by our clients. Through physician's orders Moentebello's nurses assist in the treatment of these disorders.

Food Service

Meals and special diets at Montebello Health Care Center are planned by a registered dietician. three quality meals per day with supplements and special diets per physician's order. Breakfast buffet, dessert cart, soft serve ice cream and special event meals are offered at Montebello Health Care Center.

Hospice

Montebello Health Care offers Hospice through Blessing Hospital.

Podiatrists

Richard Sowelles, D.P.M., as well as National FootCare Association, provide podiatric care for Montebello's residents.

Rehabilitation

Montebello HealthCare rehabilitiatio aides assist our registered therapists in the implementation of a client's therapy program.

Respiratory Therapy

A contract with Keokuk Area Hospital, Keokuk, Iowa enables Montebello HealthCare Center to provide respiratory therapy to those clients in need.

Senior Citizen Services

In the event that a senior citizen is in need of addresses/phone numbers dealing with senior services, our Social Service personnel are happy to provide them.

Therapies

Occupational, Speech and Physical Therapy are provided to Montebello residents, per physicians orders, under contract with NovaCare.

Vision

Vision care for Montebello HealthCare Center residents is 
available through Vision Care Outreach, a community service
of Vision Care Association.

Volunteer Programs

Volunteers play an important role at Montebello in providing friendship and help to our residents. Montebello HealthCare Center does have a volunteer program with various recognition events offered to our volunteers throught the year.
