The Mission of the Hancock County Mental Health Center, Inc.,
is to provide for social, emotional, vocational, and financial
independence for individuals in need of mental health and /or
rehabilitative services.

The Center intends to make services affordable to everyone. Insurance and Medicaid cards are accepted. Fees vary by program.

CONSUMER RIGHTS AND CONFIDENTIALITY:
Consumer's rights and confidentiality are protected by and administered according to Chapter 2 of the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Code: (IL Compiled Statutes, 1994 ILCS 110/1 et. seq.) and (405 ILCS 5/2 - 200 et. seq.); Federal Confidentiality Act for Substance Abuse services (740 ILCS 110); and confidentiality of HIV/AIDS status and testing in accordance with 410 ILCS 305.

PROGRAMS

COMMUNITY CARE PROGRAMS

• Outpatient Counseling
  The OUTPATIENT Program provides personal, family, and marital counseling to individuals of all ages dealing with issues such as
  * divorce
  * relationships
  * death of a loved one
  * depression
  * behavior problems
  * family issues
  * anxiety
  * anger management
  * mental illness
  * job-related issues
  * communication
  
  COMPREHENSIVE COMMUNITY BASED YOUTH SERVICES (CCBYS)
  provides services to youth ages 10 to 21, who are identified as being youth in limited custody by the police, at-risk of being involved with the law, a run-away, a lock-out situation, or homeless.
  
  SASS Program is designed to provide support and screening services to youth, 0 to 18 years old prior to hospitalization and up to 90 days intensive community services.
  
  
  
• Substance Abuse Counseling
  The SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROGRAM serves individuals and their families experiencing substance abuse and/or alcohol problems.
  Individuals and/or family members may also find this program helpful.
  The program offers the following:
  * DUI/NON-DUI evaluations
  * DUI Risk Education Classes
  * DUI Evaluation Updates
  * Counseling
  * Support Group Information
  * Referrals
  * 24-hour hotline
  
  
• Prevention Education
  The PREVENTION EDUCATION Program works closely with individuals, communities, organizations and schools in Hancock County to promote and educate people on the facts about alcohol and drugs.
  The PREVENTION EDUCATION SPECIALIST is involved in many activities throughout the year that focuses on alcohol, drugs and other related issues.
  
  
• Teen Parent Services
  TEEN PARENT SERVICES is designed to assist young male or female parents, 19 1/2 years old or younger attain their GED or High School Diploma and aquire decision-making and leadership skills necessary to be a strong, role model for their children.
  
  
• Case Management
  CASE MANAGEMENT provides follow-up care for individuals discharged from state and/or local impatient facilities or handicapped by a chronic condition that requires monitoring on a long-term basis.
  Services available include:
  *nursing and medical evaluations and care
  *counseling
  *advocacy & support
  *referral
  
  

REHABILITATION PROGRAMS

• Vocational Development
  The VOCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT program is designed to assess the individual's employment capabilities, assist the individual in attaining his or her maximum vocational potential, and assist the individual in obtaining and retaining suitable employment.
  
  
  
• Sheltered Workshop
  The SHELTERED WORKSHOP provides physically and mentally challenged individuals with employment opportunities in a supervised enviroment.
  
  
• Developmental Training
  The DEVELOPMENTAL TRAINING program provides an array of daily, structured social, recreational, vocational, and educational activities to mentally and physically challenged individuals.
  
  
  
• Day Treatment
  The DAY TREATMENT Program provides individuals 18 years and older, with mental illness opportunities to enhance their social, recreational, and educational skillls to promote involvement in the community.
