HARMONY

Harmony Church, near Indianola, was organized by Elder J. M. Jaillite, and others, who were dismissed by letter for that purpose from Middle River Church (where he had joined in 1858). The date of its constitution or exact location of its meetings have not yet been ascertained. In 1875 Elder Jaillite was living at Indianola; and Elder T. D. Kearney, of Adelphi, Iowa, was also a member of this church at that time. After Harmony Church dissolved, Elder Jaillite united with Ebenezer Church in Mahaska County, Iowa.

FRIENDSHIP (1886)

Friendship Church, at Liberty Center, Iowa, was organized at the Hawkeye School, on June 26, 1886. There were eight charter members, viz., Elder Andrew J. Goforth, Tacy Goforth, Barbara Hanson, William Vincent, Julia A. Vincent, James F. Baugh, Margaret K. Baugh, Olive M. Spencer, George Moffitt, and Dora A. Frederick. Elder Goforth served as pastor until his death, in 1892. He was followed by Elders M. E. Young, S. T. Keeney and others.
