BELOIT (LATER MT. PLEASANT)
"The First Regular Baptist Church of Beloit" was organized at Beloit, in Rock Co., Wisconsin, in 1846, with eight charter members. The church united with the First Northwestern Association of Regular Baptists, in 1848. In 1852 all the members but one moved to Lafayette County, near Spafford, Wisconsin. The name of the church was then changed to Mt. Pleasant. The church was located approximately six miles north of Warren, Illinois.
