CHURCHES:

UPPER FALLS OF COLE (1807)

Upper Falls of Cole Church was a member of the Teay's Valley Association, but withdrew and helped organize the Pocatalico Association in 1835. Falls of Cole Church was the host for the second session of the Pocatalico Association in 1836.

HOPEWELL (1823)

Hopewell Church, on Big Tyler Mountain, was originally a member of the Teay's Valley Association, but withdrew, with other churches, to organize the Pocatalico Association in 1835. Elder William Martin was the pastor of this church at that time.

ZOAR (1828)

Zoar Church, near Pocatalico, was one of the six churches which withdrew from the Teay's Valley Association in 1835 and was the host church for the convention which met to organize the Pocatalico Association in November 1835. Elder William Martin was the pastor at that time.

NAOMI (1913)

Naomi Church was organized on May 3, 1913, with Elder B. F. Robertson as its first pastor. Elders M. S. Moore, B. F. Atkinson, and James F. Stewart were the presbytery which organized the church. Elder Charles M. Pendleton followed Elder Robertson as pastor, and was followed by his son, Elder Walker B. Pendleton, until his death. The present pastor is Elder Monroe Hamon. The church is located on Patrick Street in Charleston. The church had 25 charter members. It is a member of the New Liberty Association.
