TEBO
The Tebo Church was constituted in 1840, by Elder Daniel Briggs, Caroline Butler, William Butler, John Anderson, Mary Putnam, Robert Briggs, and Zachariah Fewell. It was the first church of any faith organized in the county.
The first meeting house was a log structure, built the same year. The Truman Lake now covers the site where this original church stood. Elder Daniel Briggs was the first pastor, and served until his death in December 1863.
