CHURCHES:

BETHEL

Bethel Church was organized as early as 1841 or before, at Hurricane Grove (Beetown). There is evidence that Bethel Church had a meeting house at Hurricane Grove by 1852, as the association met there that fall. In 1842 when Bethel Church hosted the association, the meeting was held at the home of Elder Darius Bainbridge, the pastor.

SURNAMES OF MEMBERS:

During the 1860's Elder Gregg and others of this church moved to the state of Oregon, taking the church record book with him, but it has not been found.
